England overcame and outscored a 21-17 error-prone Australia to win their July 2- series, a second success for Northern Hemisphere rugby after Ireland’s previous win over the All Blacks.

Young pistols Freddie Steward and Marcus Smith scored the tests and the England street group led the breakdown while coach Eddie Jones got a second win in the series over his own country after his sweep by 3-0 in 2016.

Australia scored tries through Tom Wright and Folau Fainga’a in front of an exhausted 43,274 crowd at the Sydney Cricket Ground, but the accuracy of the home team left them too often at crucial moments.

Australia won the opening test 30-28 at Perth, but England bounced back with a 25-17 victory at Brisbane to take the series to Saturday’s decisive decision.

F / T! Australia 17-21 England

Tense, tight and untidy, but finally England emerges in Sydney. From 1-0, they have struggled to secure another series victory in Australia, securing the opening of the Ella-Mobbs Cup. It’s a series win that will do a lot for the youngsters on the roster, and also for some of the old guard.

In Australia he gets to touch the ball back. But is it coming out of this ruck? The whistle sounds when a wrapper of bodies come together, and although the scrum would have been that of the Wallabies, the referee’s whistle will mark the end of the series. England has held on: they take the series 2-1.

There is the new man Suliasi Vunivalu, but Owen Farrell is in charge. Samu Kerevi is everywhere, first on the left and then on the right.

But this is remarkable for the captains of England old and new: Owen Farrell and Courtney Lawes attack a breakdown, Lawes catches the ball again next to England. Jack van Poortvliet almost put Henry Arundell ahead another goal when he curled a free kick over the defensive wall and almost into the net, but the visitors’ keeper got there just in time to knock it wide.

Here comes Jack Willis, held above the line. Australia will have an abandonment of the goal line with time advancing towards the red …

England is in full game management mode. A slow development maul is a waste of time. Jack van Poortvliet tilts his first box throw higher up than forward, and Henry Arundell might have been out of the game chasing him, but he is not detected and finally gets under. Van Poortvliet uses his right boot again, this time more effectively: offside inside Australia 22, from where the Wallabies will launch their last offense.

Three minutes to play. Australia goes to the last roll of the dice: in the debut, Suliasi Vunivalu, who can be dynamite in the open field if his teammates can sniff the wing.

Penalty in England! Marika Koroibete wanders around all night, thinking she was spying on space for a ruck, but only finds a brick wall of Courtney Lawes and Luke Cowan-Dickie.

There is no golden shirt in sight, as Koroibete is a turtle, and Cowan-Dickie hits the air with delight as the whistle blows and is rewarded by another timely English jackal.

In the last five minutes while Australia explores the width of the SCG field. The two spare sides, Pete Samu and Rob Leota, are hiding at the ends, each leaving after good handling from the back. Leota is combined with Folau Fainga’a.

A bit conservative from England, which allows Australia to stop them too easily with meek handling. The scrum of Australia.

Hard meters from Samu Kerevi! A puncture goes up the center and cracks begin to open in the English defense.
