Nate Diaz choked out Tony Ferguson in the main event of UFC 278 to bring down the curtain on his legendary UFC career.
In his post-fight interview, Diaz suggested that he will be taking his talents to other combat sports with a heavily involved boxing debut.
Elsewhere on the card, Khamzat Chimaev just took down Kevin Holland with a clothesline from the first bell to secure a first round bow choke.
But Diaz was the star of the show as many fans expected him to be in his final outing in a UFC career that spanned 15 years.
The 37-year-old Stockton legend was facing the phenom that is Chimaev just three days ago, but when the Russian-born Swede weighed eight pounds over the agreed weight limit, UFC chiefs saw forced to reorganize the card.
A late warning with Ferguson proved to be no problem for Diaz as the popular pay-per-view star showed shades of the gangster mentality that made fans fall in love with him in the first place.
