Feebie McIntosh was taken to Caloundra Base Hospital yesterday in critical condition with gunshot wounds to the head.

She was taken to hospital by a 58-year-old man she knows, but died shortly after arriving.

She is believed to have been shot yesterday at 9am in Caloundra.

Police arrested Bradley Ian Cotten, 30, after intercepting his car in Sippy Downs yesterday afternoon.

“The man and woman knew each other, but preliminary investigations suggest it was not a domestic incident,” police said yesterday.

Police have confirmed that they have arrested a man in connection with the shooting. (new)

“Both were visiting the address of Coolum Street and friends of the owner, a woman, who has now spoken to investigators.”

Cotten has since been charged with murder.

Cotten has appeared in court this morning where he has not applied for bail and the case has been postponed until July.

It is unclear why Cotten and McIntosh were on the property.

Both the 58-year-old man and the homeowner are collaborating in the consultations.

A crime scene has been set up on the Dicky Beach property and homicide investigators are involved in the investigation.

Tributes have flowed on social media for McIntosh, who has been described as a loyal friend with a big heart and a smile.
