The younger ones were cooler
Frankie calculated that the longest route he had to take did NOT cost Stradivarius the race in the end.
He told ITV: “It went well, I had an inside tie so I had to be careful.
“I followed the winner and the pace was not strong.
“I had to go out and it cost me a little. I don’t think it cost me the race.
“The young horses had cooler legs, when I took it out it didn’t move much, only half as long or less.
“As we touch the line, younger horses touch the line harder.
“He doesn’t owe anything to the races and he’s been a great horse. We came and tried it.”
