MLB 2022 star game rejections: Freddie Freeman, Ty France and Carlos Rodón left the lists

One of the by-products of the launch of Major League Baseball All-Star Game playlists is the All-Star playlist. And let’s not disappoint in 2022, so let’s look at those players, who despite making a compelling case to get to Dodger Stadium, are, at least right now, on the outside looking inwards.

Injury replacements could take part of the sting if, for example, a Bryce Harper, who is still listed as an NL starter in DH despite being injured, cannot go. We know that William Contreras will take his place as headline, but there is still an open position.

Still, these are the players with the biggest complaints starting Sunday evening.

American League

Ty France, sailors

A wrist injury has hampered France a bit recently, but he has returned and is down .306 / .379 / .460 with 15 doubles, 10 homers and 45 RBIs in 74 games this season.

Anthony Rizzo, Yankees

The low batting average will disable many, but Rizzo is among the league leaders with 22 homers and 54 RBIs while being one of the top offensive forces on the best baseball team.

Corey Seager, Rangers

The .245 average and .317 base percentage are the reason he’s not on the team, but Seager has 19 homers.

Trevor Story, Red Sox

He’s much worse than Seager on average and OBP, but Story has made 55 runs at home, scored 46 times, made 15 homers and stolen 10 bases.

JD Martinez, Red Sox

He has almost no power he had before, but Martinez has reinvented himself as a type of average hitter and is incredibly productive on the plate, hitting .312 / .380 / .486.

Kevin Gausman, Blue Jays

With 16 starts, Gausman has an effectiveness of 2.86 and 100 strikeouts in 88 innings.

Robbie Ray, sailors

Ray has been rounded to the ace shape again, but it was probably too late to be considered strong. The workhorse leads the AL in face-to-face innings and batters. In his last six starts, he has an effectiveness of 0.91 and 46 strikeouts in 39 2/3 innings.

Logan Gilbert, sailors

Hey, we can still use the registry, right? Gilbert is 10-3! It also has an effectiveness of 2.80, 1.17 WHIP and 100 strikeouts in 106 innings.

Dylan Cease, White Sox

The walks must have done it. Cease leads the majors with 43 free passes allowed. It has also put 133 in 92 innings and has an effectiveness of 2.45 (161 ERA +).

Michael King, Yankee

He has been very valuable to the Yankees in a multi-entry role, especially since they lost Chad Green during the year. In 20 outings, King has worked 46 1/3 innings, throwing with an effectiveness of 2.33 and WHIP of 0.99 with 62 strikeouts.

National League

Josh Bell, Nationals

The Nats only have one player on the team. That this player is Juan Soto makes sense. Bell, however, is hitting .304 / .386 / .491 with 19 doubles, two triples, 12 homers, 47 RBIs and 44 RBIs. He had a great case.

Freddie Freeman, Dodgers

Part of the problem with Bell and Freeman was a full position, aggravated because the Rockies needed a rep and CJ Cron was their best selection. Freddie Freeman is making another season of Freddie Freeman, however, cutting .304 / .381 / .494 with 11 homers and 54 RBIs. He has been so important in the midst of the Dodgers order as they have dealt with injuries and some disappointing performances.

Austin Riley, Braves

He’s hitting .282, which is very high these days, with 23 homers and 56 RBIs. Tough people, right?

Francisco Lindor, Mets

The .239 / .316 / .421 bar isn’t too impressive, but Lindor has been a monster of count stats with 15 homers, 60 RBI, 50 runs and nine steals.

Brandon Drury, reds

I thought the representative of the reds would be Drury, but instead it was the starting pitcher Luis Castillo. Drury is a 29-year-old man who hit .277 / .333 / .540 with 18 doubles, two triples, 18 homers, 50 RBIs and 53 RBIs. It would have been a beautiful story.

Bryan Reynolds, Pirates

In the coming weeks we will hear his name as a commercial candidate. If the pirates end up handing it out, some team will get a totally underrated star. A slow start was the culprit here, but he has been one of the best players in the league in June and July.

Aaron Nola and Zack Wheeler, Phillies

Nola has been one of the best workhorses in the league, collecting 111 1/3 entries to this point. He has put up 120 against 14 unintentional balls with an effectiveness of 3.15 and a WHIP of 0.93. Wheeler is 8-4 with a 2.46 ERA, 1.05 WHIP and 104 strikeouts in 95 innings. They are a pair of aces for the Philistines, but both were blank.

Carlos Rodón, Giants

Through 17 headlines, he has an effectiveness of 2.70, 1.06 WHIP and 124 strikeouts against 32 balls in 100 innings. His 2.13 FIP leads the NL.
