Oppo’s Reno series has been in existence since 2019, typically geared towards the mid-range segment and offering sleek designs. Now, the company has launched the Oppo Reno 8 Pro in global markets, so what should you expect?
Perhaps the most prominent feature is the design of the phone, reminiscent of the Oppo Find X5 Pro. It offers a back cover and a camera shot made with the same piece of glass, but here you also get flat edges. This design is identical to the Oppo Reno 8 Pro Plus, which was launched in China earlier this year.

The Reno 8 Pro shares more than just one aspect with the Reno 8 Pro Plus. It also has the same spec sheet, such as a mid-range Mediatek Dimensity 8100-Max processor, a 6.7-inch 120Hz FHD + OLED display, a 4,500 mAh battery, and 80-inch cable charging speeds. W.
Switching to the field of photography, the device has Oppo’s MariSiliconX image chip. The company says this chip is used for better low light 4K video, improved 4K HDR video and higher quality selfies.
Oppo Reno 8 Pro: hot or not?

The Reno 8 Pro includes a triple rear camera system, which consists of a 50 MP IMX766 main camera, an 8 MP ultra-wide lens and a 2 MP macro shutter. Look at the front and you have a 32 MP IMX709 RGBW camera for selfies.
Other notable features include Bluetooth 5.3, Color OS 12.1 on top of Android 12, dual stereo speakers, a fingerprint sensor on the screen and Wi-Fi 6.
Oppo did not reveal the prices at the time of writing, but hopefully it will be a bit cheaper than last year’s Reno 7 Pro. The oldest phone was launched at 39,999 rupees (~ $ 500) and we thought it had questionable value in our review at the time.
