The 77-year-old singer danced in the crowd as he sang Neil Diamond’s much-loved melody in his recognizable hoarse voice.
While partygoers were baffled by Rod’s cover, BBC viewers heard Rod “masquerade” the famous karaoke song.

After the show, Rod revealed that he and his supporting singers had recently recovered from Covid-19 after returning to the UK in the middle of their US tour.
“I just got home especially for that, and I took Covid and got over it! All six of us got it, we’re glad to be here,” he said.

The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee reaches its third day today with the Epsom Derby and Party At The Palace concert, featuring Diana Ross, Sir Rod Stewart, Sam Ryder and more.
