A stonemason crushed to death at the Sydney construction site

A stonemason has been crushed to death at a school construction site in Sydney’s inner west.

The man was crushed by falling scaffolding and concrete at Fort Street High School in Petersham at around 11.30am on Friday.

“Officers … attended the scene and found a worker trapped under large rocks,” NSW Police said.

NSW Ambulance paramedics attended and pronounced the man dead.

He has not yet been formally identified.

A crime scene has been established and Safe Work NSW has been notified.
