Australia’s squad for the Test series against the West Indies has three players dropped from last summer’s Ashes triumphant squad.
Michael Neser, Jhye Richardson and Mitchell Swepson have all missed out on the 13-man squad named by Cricket Australia on Tuesday.
Victoria’s cult hero Scott Boland has held his own alongside the pace trio of Mitchell Starc, Pat Cummins and Josh Hazlewood with a bowling shootout for three spots.

Meanwhile, opener Marcus Harris has been recalled to the Test squad after being dropped during last summer’s Ashes and overlooked for the tour of Sri Lanka.
He is second on the Sheffield Shield run charts this season after making 287 runs at 57.40 in three matches, while earlier this year he made 727 runs at 45.3 for Gloucestershire.
Head selector George Bailey said the left-back was back in the frame after a strong start to the national season and a stint in the county championship.
“Marcus Harris retains his place after continuing to perform for Gloucestershire in the English County competition and a strong start to the Marsh Sheffield Shield season,” Bailey said today.
“After some bigger squads for the sub-continent tours over the winter, we’ve returned to a very similar squad to the one that performed well last summer in comprehensively winning the Ashes.”

Elsewhere, Travis Head has retained his place despite struggling on the tours of Pakistan and Sri Lanka, and at domestic level since the end of The Ashes.
He has made just 291 runs under 20 in 17 first-class innings since the Hobart Test.
Head has also been picked in Australia’s ODI squad as a likely replacement for the retired Aaron Finch.
“He has shown flexibility in the types of roles he can play in our ODI line-up,” Bailey said of Head.
“Our next opportunity in the ODI format will be in India next year, which will allow us to experience similar conditions to the World Cup in October.”
There are few surprises elsewhere with Steve Smith, Marnus Labuschagne, David Warner, Cameron Green and Alex Carey in both teams along with Cummins, Starc and Hazlewood.
Usman Khawaja will retain his place as Test opener alongside Warner.
The first Test against the West Indies begins in Perth on November 30.
