A singer from boy band Blue has been found guilty of racially aggravated assault after telling a black flight attendant he wanted her “chocolate children” and asking her to kiss him.
Lee Ryan, 39, was “slurring his words and reeling” after drinking a bottle of port before boarding a British Airways flight from Glasgow to London City Airport last July. After refusing more alcohol on the plane and telling her to return to her seat, Ryan made comments about Leah Gordon’s skin before attacking her.
Ryan was convicted at Ealing Magistrates’ Court, west London, of being drunk on a plane, assaulting a police officer, common aggravated racially aggravated assault and behaving in an abusive manner towards the member of the cabin crew.
