All MLB 2022 All-Star teams have been introduced.
Major League Baseball on Sunday announced the full All-Star playoffs for the American League and National League, adding pitchers and reserves to the starting lineups chosen by the fans that were revealed Friday.
The 92nd Midsummer Classic takes place on Tuesday, July 19 at Dodger Stadium.
This year there are game legends Miguel Cabrera (12th All-Star Team) and Albert Pujols (11th); Perennial All-Stars such as Mike Trout (10th and ninth start chosen by fans), Justin Verlander and Clayton Kershaw (ninth), Jose Altuve (eighth), and Nolan Arenado, Paul Goldschmidt and Bryce Harper (seventh); and lots of new faces. This year, there are 30 All-Stars for the first time, the fourth straight game MLB has at least 30 new All-Stars.
There are also 28 All-Stars born internationally in 2022, 18 on the AL list and 10 on the NL list. They represent the Dominican Republic (11 All-Stars), Venezuela (eight), Cuba and Puerto Rico (two), and Aruba, the Bahamas, Canada, Japan, and Mexico (one each). Thirty-nine of the current 66 All-Stars come from a variety of backgrounds, including 25 AL All-Stars, who make up more than 75% of the team.

This is Trout’s ninth consecutive All-Star Game, the longest streak among active players. His teammate Angel Shohei Ohtani, who was selected as a pitcher and hitter for the second year in a row, will join the All-Star Game. Ohtani, who recorded a historic MVP season in 2021, has amassed 19 homers on the plate this year and has recorded a 2.44 ERA in 14 starts.
