Cristiano Ronaldo issues a statement after Man United ordered him to train alone in exile from the squad

Ronaldo is understood to have left Old Trafford before full-time in Wednesday’s 2-0 Premier League win against Tottenham, after being overlooked as a substitute by manager Erik ten Hag.

Ten Hag have now ruled that Ronaldo will have no part to play against Chelsea at the weekend and will reportedly train alone for the rest of the week.

Hours after United’s statement confirming Ten Hag’s decision, Ronaldo has broken his silence on Instagram.

Unfortunately. that it’s not always possible and sometimes the pace of the moment gets the best of us.(sic)

“Right now, I think I have to keep working hard at Carrington, support my team-mates and be ready for everything in any game. Giving in to pressure is not an option. It never was. This is Manchester United and united we have to stick together. We’ll be together again soon.”
