8.45pm (AEDT) – The World Cup champion’s embarrassing run
Germany is the second most successful nation in terms of the World Cup having won it four times.
But the European powerhouse have failed miserably in recent times, losing three of their last four World Cup matches.
Germany reigned supreme in 2014 when they defeated Argentina at the World Cup in Brazil, but four years later it all fell apart.
The reigning champions were sent packing from the group stage after losing to Mexico and South Korea.
This means that in more than eight years, the soccer powerhouse has only managed one victory in the soccer World Cup. The same number as Australia.
20:00 AEDT: Graham Arnold’s unseen spray in the middle of the game
Australian fans went absolutely wild when Mitch Duke’s 23rd minute header against Tunisia found the back of the net.
Wild scenes unfolded in the crowd, in bars around the world and in Melbourne’s Federation Square.
But in footage captured by the BBC, Graham Arnold’s joy quickly turned to fiery rage.
The Socceroos coach celebrated briefly before venting his frustrations in the direction of skipper Mat Ryan.
Arnold was seen pointing and shouting at the goalie, telling him to go celebrate with his teammates.
The Socceroos manager’s moment shows how he wants the team to really bond.
