The Foo Fighters released an emotional announcement on Twitter on Saturday, stating that they will continue to perform following the tragic death of band member Taylor Hawkins.
Hawkins sent shockwaves through the music industry when he died suddenly in March aged 50, dying during the South American leg of the Foo Fighters’ world tour.
The loss of the band’s beloved drummer cast doubt on their future, but heartbroken fans can now take solace in the knowledge that the legendary rockers will continue to perform.

Kicking off their powerful statement, the band wrote: “As we say goodbye to the most difficult and tragic year our band has ever known, we remember how grateful we are for the people we love and cherish the most, and for the dear people. those who are no longer with us.’
The Everlong hitmakers went on to state, “The foo fighters formed 27 years ago to represent the healing power of music and a continuation of life.”
“And over the past 27 years, our fans have built a worldwide community, a dedicated support system that has helped us all through the darkest times.”
“A place to share our joy and our pain, our hopes and fears, and join in a chorus of life together through music.”

Concluding their statement, the rock stars wrote: “We also know that you, the fans, meant as much to Taylor as he meant to you. And we know that when we meet again, and we will soon, he will be there in spirit with all of us every night.
The Foo Fighters’ massive and devoted fan base was certainly touched by the band’s poignant statement.
Heart emojis filled the comments section, with many declaring their undying love for the band.
‘I love you all so much!’ wrote a fan. “You’ve been with me almost my whole life. I haven’t been able to listen to your music since Taylor died, but this message gives me hope to do it again.

The band reunited in September for a pair of emotional tribute concerts to commemorate Hawkins and celebrate his life.
The first concert took place across the Atlantic on September 3 at London’s Wembley Stadium, bringing together a star-studded line-up of rock icons for a six-hour mega-show.
The second tribute concert took place in Los Angeles on September 27 at The Kia Forum, filling the stage with everyone from Miley Cyrus and Pink to Dave Chappelle and Brian May.
Addressing the crowd during the London show, Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl declared: “We’ve come together to bring you a night of gigantic shit for one gigantic shit person.” So sing, laugh and dance and shout and make noise so you can hear us right now!
“Because you know what,” he added. “It’s going to be a very long night!”
