Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 1 starts later today, with a new map, new battle pass, new cosmetics, and new challenges.
However, this morning players trying to log in are met with a servers not responding message on the splash screen.
Fortnite Chapter 3 concluded last night, where the fabric of the Fortnite world was torn apart, bringing with it many new characters that can now be used as cosmetics in the new chapter of the game, including Doom Slayer and Geralt of The Witcher.
However, as with the end of every Fortnite event, there has been significant downtime since the event concluded, preventing the player from entering the game, and Epic has not indicated when the season will officially begin 1 of Fortnite Chapter 4.

If you’re trying to log in to Fortnite and see that the servers aren’t responding to messages, the game’s new chapter, Chapter 4, hasn’t started yet.
Fortnite servers are expected to go up around 6:00am PT / 9:00am EST / 2:00pm GMT. While Epic has yet to officially say when the game will resume play, the above times are based on previous Fortnite events and when the game is likely to return to normal, however, this could change.
Epic has revealed some of the new weapons coming to the game, including the Ex-Caliber rifle. “His powerful semi-automatic rifle fires a ballistic blade at your enemies…which detonates moments later,” according to Epic.
The Thunder Shotgun, Maven Auto Shotgun, Red Eye Assault Rifle, and Twin Mag SMG will also be added to the game as part of this update.
Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 1 also marks the game’s transition to Unreal Engine 5 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
