The iPhone 14 could arrive this week, with a big Apple event planned for this Wednesday. Want to tune in and see the latest iteration of the world’s most popular smartphone? Here’s how.
First, it’s worth discussing what to expect. Every year since 2007, we’ve seen a new Apple iPhone hit the market. This year will be no exception and the event scheduled for Wednesday evening fits the release pattern of recent years. A new iPhone is usually released in September in time for the seasonal rush, so we expect to know the iPhone 14 UK release date by the end of the week.
Rumors suggest the iPhone 13 mini won’t get a follow-up, with smaller phones seemingly out in the cold in terms of popularity. Instead, we expect an iPhone 14, an iPhone 14 Pro, and an iPhone 14 Pro Max to be released.
Apple is also expected to introduce a new Apple Watch, following the Apple Watch 7 that arrived late last year. It impressed us, earning 4.3 stars in our full Apple Watch 7 review. Now, we’re eager to see how Apple improves the formula on its wearables and smartphones.
As always, expectations are pretty high. Apple routinely creates some of the best smartphones money can buy, combining sophisticated technology and exclusive Apple chipsets with well-designed user interfaces and intuitive software. Today, there are more capable Android competitors than ever before, so it will be important for Apple to see its flagship phones make progress and appeal to the mass market.

How to watch the Apple ‘Far Out’ event live in the UK
If you want to watch it live and get the first glimpse possible of the iPhone 14 series, it’s easy to do so.
Just click the window above to tune in to the live stream at 6pm BST on Wednesday 7 September or head over to Apple’s YouTube channel.
When will the iPhone 14 come out?
Right now, that’s not confirmed, as Apple likes to keep its cards close to its chest before a big launch. However, from previous years, the official release date is usually a week after the event.
When can I pre-order the iPhone 14?
Fortunately, for those who want a new iPhone as soon as possible, previous iPhone models have been available for pre-order since the Friday following the event.
If Apple follows suit this year, the iPhone 14 series will be available to pre-order in the UK from this Friday. However, for now, this is still speculation. Official dates and times for the UK are due to be revealed after Wednesday’s event.
Meanwhile, the more affordable iPhone 13 and iPhone SE models are available from most UK retailers.
