Wow! We are seeing a partnership between Meta (instagram) and Samsung.

Here’s Adam Mosseri, the head of Instagram, to tell us more. Let’s be honest… Instagram probably needs a good relationship for photographers and content creators, but we’re not convinced…

One of the main advantages of the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 4 is the second screen on the front of the flip model. Samsung says that turning off the flip phone is effectively telling your friends that you’re more engaged and ready to switch off, but… Samsung also tells us that you can access everything you need on the front screen without opening it. the phone. Messages a bit confusing?

The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 4 helps you capture life from different perspectives and is said to completely change the way you use your camera. Apparently, it’s like having a tripod and a camera, all in one! Do you agree?

The camera features brighter sensors and a combined pixel size than the previous Pixel 3 model.

TM Roh (the head of Samsung) now gives us an opening speech, along with a brief history of the technology that has made the Samsung Galaxy family what it is today.

Just three years ago, this category didn’t even exist! Crikey.

Digital camera world editor in phone camera megapixels

If the latest Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Flip 4 still have the same 12MP cameras, will that matter? Our website editor, James Artauis, just wrote an article about why even though his iPhone 12 camera is only 12MP (opens in a new tab), it feels good enough. After all, how many of us are bulk printing from our smartphones?

I’ve included an excerpt below – food for thought while we wait!

“It’s crazy to me. The megapixels on my iPhone 13 camera are only 12MP, a resolution that looks positively paltry on paper. And with 48MP and even 108MP phones now commonplace, it makes the my phone feels a little weak.”

Is it really so, though? Because whenever I use other phones, even the best camera phones (opens in a new tab) like the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra (opens in a new tab), I find that the pictures I take on my iPhone they are almost always better. The iPhone 13’s camera megapixels, while limited, simply produce superior photos.

This is just my personal perspective, of course. And it only applies to the rear camera; I won’t pretend the 8MP selfie camera is anything to write home about. However, in a world where the megapixel wars are still raging and the iPhone 14 Pro is rumored to have a 48MP primary camera, bigger doesn’t necessarily mean better (just more expensive).

Okay, enough boy chat. Let’s talk about smartphone cameras: Samsung smartphone cameras. Samsung has traditionally introduced some of the highest megapixels of the pack, that is if you look at the flagship Galaxy S22 family.

The Galaxy S22 Ultra features a 108-megapixel sensor on the front, in addition to a 40-megapixel front-facing camera. In contrast, the Flip 3 and Fold 3 only feature 12MP main cameras. Rumors flying (opens in new tab) suggest that the Galaxy Z Flip 4 could have a 50MP camera, but we think Samsung will make a more modest upgrade than that. After all, if they’re the only real competitor in the market right now, they don’t need to compete yet, with silly specs.

As we know from DSLR and mirrorless cameras, resolution isn’t everything when it comes to creating stunning photos. And as my colleague recently said, maybe we should stop measuring resolution in megapixels (opens in a new tab)!

K-pop band BTS will perform after the Galaxy Unpacked event

Side note: This has little to do with cameras (sorry, not sorry), but it is related to the Samsung Unpacked event: it turns out that there will also be a special performance by K-pop supergroup BTS who are performing a new single “Yet To”. Come with Samsung Galaxy after the event in Times Square at 4pm EST! It was only in June that the band were said to be going on hiatus (opens in new tab), so superfans will no doubt be delighted to see them back. Smart move, Samsung. Create that hype.
