Lockdown contestants issue angry late-night text from their own builder

Contestants Sharon and Ankur’s bumpy ride on The Block continued during Monday’s episode, as the pair received an angry message from their own builder yelling at them for their behaviour.

How The Block As host Scott Cam explained, builder Liam was unhappy that Ankur and Sharon had “left him out of everything to do with construction” while he was on a week’s holiday.

His frustration started after Sharon and Ankur won last week’s guest bedroom reveal by half a point, and they even forgot to inform him of their win.

“Not only did they not tell her the result, or offer her a thank you or a congratulations, but they didn’t tell her which ward they were starting this week. So Liam let his frustrations out,” Cam told viewers.

Sharon argued that she and Ankur were trying to respect Liam’s time apart The Block and not to bother him unnecessarily, but as he told them, a text to let him know they’d won the week and let him know which room was next on the agenda wouldn’t have disrupted his vacation.

And he gave them a disguise, in the form of a long text sent at 3.30am one night. It was said, in part:

“I think regardless of how you feel after a win, loss or otherwise, I deserve at least one text of the result and the week ahead.

All trades deserve a thank you for the week and the efforts put into the message… To put their lives on hold, to wait to arrive without notice, to make this work within their regular business, because some of us we don’t see our usual families. for days

The list of impacts goes on and a thank you message makes an impact.”

“There was no ‘hello, hello’. It was straight to the point,” Sharon said, with Ankur describing the late-night text as the “last thing” they wanted to receive.

After Sharon had broadcast her text from Liam, part of her response was shown on camera:

Elsewhere on Monday’s episode, Sharon clashed with several of her fellow contestants, first accusing Omar and Oz of copying several features of last year’s Ronnie and Georgia team with their winning bath.

Later in the episode, a joke by contestant Sarah-Jane about Sharon and Ankur’s painting skills left the pair red-faced.

“We’re the worst painters,” contestant Ryan said of himself and his wife Rachel as the teams sat down for a friendly dinner.

“That’s a lie, because Sharon and Anks are the worst painters,” Sarah-Jane said with a laugh. “Call a spade a spade!”

“Very well,” said a clearly annoyed Sharon.

“My heart just sank. I felt like we were being laughed at in a group,” Sharon told the cameras as she was away from the dinner table.

“It’s rude, it’s unnecessary and it made me feel like shit. And if I wanted to be rude, I’d say ‘Well, the last two weeks we beat you.’ But I’m not an **ehole.”
