It seems like every time a new flagship Nintendo game is about to launch, it has a special Switch edition to go along with it. Pokemon Scarlet and Violet are no exception, as today Nintendo revealed the orange and grape-flavored Switch OLED that will accompany the release of the next major Pokemon title.
With a particularly catchy name – The Nintendo Switch – OLED Model: Pokemon Scarlet & Violet Edition – the OLED Switch will launch on November 4th and retail for $359.99, sporting the sleek paint job with the new legendaries of Scarlet and Violet are worth an extra $10. than the normal white SWOLED.
In addition to the new SWOLED, Nintendo also released a new ScarVi trailer (my new name for the game that I just made up right now) that gives us even more details on what to expect from the game. The trailer revealed the “evil” Team Star – a group of student rebels who seem to live in their own self-contained zone, which is a hilarious bit of world-building when you realize that Paldea is partly based in Spain , a country that is currently struggling. with the independence movements.
Aside from the politics of Pokemon, the trailer also shows another part of the story campaign, which shows your student helping an upperclassman find the mysterious Mystic Herb. You will have to venture into the lairs of the Titan Pokémon, which seems to mimic the hunt for the Alpha Pokémon from Pokémon Legends: Arceus. Finally, no Pokemon game would be complete without gym battles. Victory Road is where your students take on talented Gym Leaders, some of which have been designed to extract as much thirst as possible.
Not featured in the trailer but mentioned in the accompanying press release, ScarVi will also have a new gameplay feature called “Let’s Go.” According to the press release, a trainer can send a pokémon to roam the wilds, collect items, and automatically fight any world they come across, which is great for grinding, but brilliant hunters might want to be careful.
Pokemon Scarlet and Violet will launch on November 18 on Nintendo Switch.
