Olivia Pratt-Korbel murder: 170 arrests across Merseyside as crackdown on organized crime steps up

A crackdown on serious and organized crime has seen Merseyside Police arrest 170 people over the past week.

Officers have carried out dozens of raids as they continue to appeal for help in finding Olivia Pratt-Korbel’s killer.

The nine-year-old girl was fatally shot in her own home last Monday, becoming the third person in Merseyside to lose her life to gun violence in a week.

Sam Rimmer was killed in a shooting on August 16, while Ashley Dale was killed in her back garden on August 21.

In a statement, Merseyside Police said it has executed 58 warrants at locations in Liverpool, Knowsley and St Helens.

Some 46 vehicles have also been confiscated in the last seven days, with two firearms recovered.

Detectives also revealed they have received more than 280 intelligence communications from people reporting organized crime.

“We hope these figures and the relentless work of our officers over the past week demonstrate our commitment to targeting anyone involved in organized crime and taking dangerous weapons and drugs off the streets,” said Detective Chief Superintendent Mark Kameen .

Yesterday, “search and sniff” dogs were seen in a cordoned-off area around Olivia’s home, with officers making door-to-door enquiries.

In a new appeal on social media, with images from the school, police said: “You know his name, now we need the name of his killer.”

The post also featured images of Sam Rimmer and Ashley Dale, and warned audiences: “Silence is not an option.”

He added: “If you have information and withhold it, you are protecting murderers. We need your information. Give us that information and we will do the rest.”

Merseyside Police said anyone with information can contact them via social media or by calling 101.
