Pokemon Scarlet and Violet are here and each version has something unique to offer the completist trainer. If you’re like me, you probably want to know the differences between the two versions to inform your purchasing decision (or know what to keep in mind on your travels). While each version will have easy access to unique Pokemon not available in other versions, Scarlet and Violet’s exclusives extend beyond that. Players will attend different schools, have a different teacher, and even have different outfits, all unique to their version of the game. Now is the time to break them.
Each version difference for Pokemon Scarlet and Violet
Scarlet exclusives
The following exclusives can only be found in Pokémon Scarlet.

Pokemon exclusive to Scarlet
Scarlet trainers will have the legendary Koraidon, Amarouge (Fire/Psychic), Larvitar (Rock) and Stonjourner (Rock). Since Larvitar is listed as an exclusive, it’s highly likely that its evolutions, Rock-type Pupitar and Tyranitar, the Rock/Dark-type powerhouse, will also be exclusives.
Other exclusives include the following:

- Shrelp -> Drag the algae
- Deino -> Zweilous -> Hydreigon
Professor Scarlet
Scarlet Pokemon trainers will be under the wing of the female commander, Professor Sada.
Scarlet School
Pokemon Trainers in Scarlet will attend Orange (Orange) Academy.
Scarlet Uniform
Pokemon Scarlet players will have white, blue, and orange uniforms that match their orange academy.
Violet exclusives
The following exclusives can only be found in Pokemon Violet.

Purple Trainers will get the legendary Miraidon, Ceruledge (Fire/Ghost), Bagon (Dragon), and Eiskue (Ice).
Since Bagon is listed as an exclusive, it’s highly likely that his evolutions, Dragon-type Pupitar and Dragon/Flying-type fan favorite Salamence, will also be exclusives.

- Gulpin -> Swalot
- Clauncher -> Clawitzer
- Dreepy -> Drakloak -> Dragapult
Professor Violeta
Pokemon trainers in purple will be under the wing of Commander Professor Turo.
Violet School
Pokemon trainers in purple will be attending Grape Academy.
Violet uniform
Pokemon Violet players will have gray, black, and purple uniforms that match their Grape Academy.
