60 min: Double substitution for Celtic: Liel Abada and Aaron Mooy replace James Forrest and Matt O’Riley.
59 min: Rangers corner. Barisic’s troops cross to take it. Its delivery is excellent, sent with a lot of zip. Celtic of course.
57 min: Ibrox are absolutely rocking on the back of this second-half collapse from Celtic. For the visitors, Matate moves into space along the byline and drills the ball across the face of the goal. He rolls behind Maeda and no one else is on hand to take him home.
55 min: Josip Juranovic: an apology. In fact, it wasn’t the Croatian who brought Fashion Sakala down with the penalty. Carl Starfelt was the villain of the piece.
GOAL! Rangers 2-1 Celtic (Tavernier 53pen)
The Rangers lead! James Tavernier takes a splendid penalty, firing the ball into the top left corner. It’s a perfect spot kick and Joe Hart had no chance of getting anywhere near it. What a twist!!!

PENALTY FOR RANGERS!!!
Juranovic is the villain again, sliding in for Sakala on the right side of the Celtic penalty area. It’s a silly challenge and referee John Beaton has no hesitation in awarding a penalty.
51 min: Fashion Sakala shoots high over the bar from the Celtic penalty area. I should have done better.
49 min: Josip Juranovic was desperately out of position as Fashion Sakala picked up the ball and picked out Kent with a low pass into the Celtic penalty area. Kent was in acres of space and had plenty of room to cut inside and pull the trigger.
GOAL! Rangers 1-1 Celtic (Kent 47)
The Rangers equalize! Ryan Kent receives a pass on the left of the Celtic penalty area, cuts inside Josip Juranovic and fires a shot into the far corner. Joe Hart couldn’t and didn’t come close.

47 min: Alastair Johnston fouls Glen Kamara to concede a free-kick just inside the Rangers half, out on the left.
Second half: Rangers 0-1 Celtic
46 min: The game resumes with Celtic on the ball. There are no further personnel changes for either side, although Celtic did lose Greg Taylor to a hamstring injury in the first half.
Alistair Johnston: Celtic’s Canadian debutant has looked at the manor house born in his baptism of fire in green and white hoops. Indeed, Rangers have given him little trouble as they have been unable to get behind the Celtic defence. Their scoring opportunities have come from corners or after Celta’s mistakes. Cameron Carter-Vickers and Joe Hart have given their fans palpitations by giving the ball away cheaply in dangerous positions.
Mid: Rangers 0-1 Celtic
Pee! Referee John Beaton calls off the first half and the Celtic players head into their dressing room with a one goal lead thanks to Daizen Maeda’s opener. The goal was given to them by Rangers, who created some chances of their own. Ryan Kent had a shot saved at the post by Joe Hart, while Alfredo Morelos also missed a couple of people. Celtic have been the better team, but their leadership is well worth it.

45+1 min: Rangers corner. The ball reaches the back post, where Alfredo Morelos pins Juranovic in behind, gets a free header and somehow sends it wide from six yards. He should have scored, but if he had, his effort could have been ruled out.
45 min: Celta clear consecutive crosses from each side from their penalty area. Carter-Vickers does the honors on both occasions, pushing away deliveries from Barisic and then Tavernier.
44 min: Another effort from Morelos, who steals the ball from Cameron Carter-Vickers on the edge of the Celtic penalty area. He tries to curl a shot into the top corner but his effort goes high and wide.
43 min: Alfredo Morelos slips Juranovic and heads home with a cross. It’s a wonderful chance for him to equalize for Rangers, but his effort goes over the bar.
41 min: Forrest drills another low into the Rangers penalty area. The ball goes into the path of Kyogo, who looks certain to score. Spin your boot and miss the ball completely! It rolls to Maeda, who rushes a shot over the crossbar when he’s had time to take a touch and settle.
39 min: Barisic slides in to dispossess James Forrest on the right flank, flicking the ball on for a Celtic throw-in in Rangers territory. Alistair Johnston plays the ball to Matt O’Riley, who turns inside Tavernier and gets a cross.
38 min: Reo Hatate has a shot on the turn from the edge of the Rangers penalty area blocked by John Lundstram.
36 min: McGregor is forced off his line to dive and take the ball under pressure from Kyogo as Celtic put the ball back into the Rangers penalty area.
34 min: Alfredo Morelos does well to win a corner for his team. Barisic’s influence delivery is decent on this occasion, but Joe Hart clears the line quickly to punch away a challenge from Malik Tillman.
32 min: Rangers have finally settled into the game after a terrible start and have dominated the last few minutes. The quality of their throws in the Celtic area is leaving a lot to be desired and Borna Barisic is the main culprit. Too many of his crosses go too close to Hart.
31 min: Yes, the replays show that Joe Hart made a good save there to make up for his moment of madness a few seconds earlier. A clearance was unnecessarily stopped and allowed Alfredo Morelos to close it down.
28 min: Joe Hart tries to clear a bouncing ball with Alfredo Morelos right in front of him, blocking his way. The ball bounces off the striker and rebounds to the end line. Morelos does well to play it back to Sakala, who plays with Ryan Kent. From outside the Celtic penalty area, he hits the post with a low daisy. I think Joe Hart might have knocked it on wood.
26 min: Alistair Johnston plays the ball out to Craig Forrest on the right flank. His throw-back on the edge of the Rangers penalty area is intercepted. Celtic are turning Rangers around here, moving play from one side of the pitch to the other and attacking down both sides.
24 min: Greg Taylor has pulled a hamstring, hence his departure. He received little to no sympathy from Rangers fans, who seemed to think he was wasting his time and jeered accordingly while he received treatment.
23 min: Maeda speeds down the inside left, again leaves James Tavernier in the dust and drills another low cross into the Rangers penalty area. Connor Goldson intercepts the delivery and the Rangers clear.
21 min: Celtic change: Josip Juranovic comes on for Greg Taylor. As the defender limps off, a microphone at the side of the pitch picks up the sound of someone saying goodbye to him in a thick Glasgow accent. “Here you go Taylor you bastard!!!”
18 min: Kyogo Furuhashi latches on to a ball from deep on the left but can’t keep it in play. Celtic left-back Greg Taylor, fresh from injury treatment, has suffered again. Looks like he’ll have to go.
17 min: Barisic tries to lift the ball to the far post after it breaks to him. It’s too high for Sakala, who jumps in tandem with Greg Taylor. Barisic probably should have tried a shot there.

15 min: The home fans are already furious and take their anger out on Borna Barisic as the left-back fully hits a simple short pass and loses the ball midway inside his own half. He gets away with it.
14 min: Callum McGregor unleashes a low drive from distance which Allan McGregor turns around to his right for a corner. Nothing comes from the set piece.
13 min: Connor Goldson receives a pass from Allan McGregor and under high pressure from Maeda, clears the ball for a Celtic throw-in in Rangers territory. The Japanese forward is playing exceptionally well in these early stages.
11 min: Celtic have an early lead but the game is yet to settle into any sort of rhythm. Fashion Sakala flicks a hopeful ball forward but Celtic clear in behind with minimal fuss.
9 min: Maeda tries to turn the provider, sending a low cross from the left that flows down the corridor of uncertainty on the edge of the Rangers six-yard box to the far post. Allan McGregor can’t make it, but luckily for him, neither can his Celtic namesake Callum.
7 min: It’s a horrible start for Rangers, who concede an absurdly sloppy goal. Both Morelos and Tavernier were guilty. After being stitched up by his teammate’s terrible pass, both he and Connor Goldson allowed Maeda to dribble past them before firing on goal.
GOAL! Rangers 0-1 Celtic (Maeda 5)
Celtic leader! Alfredo Morelos sells James Tavernier short with a blind pass and underhit and Daizen Maeda pounces. Through on goal with only Allan McGregor to beat, he slotted low past the keeper to fire Celtic into an early lead.

4 min: The game is marked by a series of throws that slow down the frenetic early pace of the game. oh wait…
2 min: Borna Barisic floats a free-kick from the middle of the Celtic half to the edge of the penalty area. The visitors clarify. It’s been a predictably lively start.
1 min: John Lundstram goes down clutching his knee after Matt O’Riley puts one on the Rangers midfielder as he clears a ball down. That’s all right.
Rangers v Coeltic is on…
1 min: Rangers get the ball rolling on derby day in Glasgow and immediately go on the attack. Ryan Kent gets a shot early…
