Starting September 19, 2022, Moderna’s bivalent COVID vaccine will be available at the COVID Clinic for those over 70 years of age. The Moderna bivalent vaccine protects against the original strain of COVID-19 and offers improved protection against the currently circulating Omicron. variant Clinical trials have shown that Moderna’s bivalent vaccine triggers a strong immune response against the original 2020 strain of COVID-19 and Omicron variants. This vaccine is only approved as a booster dose. You must have had a series of primary doses before you can receive the bivalent vaccine. You will only be eligible if it has been 4 months since your last dose. SHA will host a COVID Vaccination Clinic in the Conexus Room at the Humboldt District Health Complex on September 19, 2022 from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM.
