Three men dead after incident in Victorian country town

Three men, believed to have known each other, have died in a rural town in south-west Victoria.

Emergency services found two of the injured men on the road after they were called to Kirkstall-Koroit Road in Kirkstall, near Warrnambool, about 10.20am.

Both men, who have not yet been formally identified, died of their injuries at the scene.

Shortly afterwards, police received reports that a man had been found dead at a property on nearby Chamberlain Street.

A witness who lives near where the two men met told 9News he heard at least two gunshots around the time of the incident and then a car driving away.

“The exact circumstances of the deaths are yet to be determined at this stage, but detectives are not looking for anyone else in connection with the matter,” Victoria Police said in a statement.

Police have established a crime scene in Kirkstall following the men’s deaths. (new)

Police believe the men knew each other.
