The FIFA World Cup 2022 continued on Thursday with Uruguay and South Korea battling to a 0-0 draw.
Each squad had opportunities to break the tie in the closing minutes of Thursday’s game, but failed to capitalize. Although there were a combined 17 shots in the game, there was only one shot on goal between the two teams.
Earlier on Thursday, Switzerland beat Cameroon 1-0.

Uruguay were able to create some traffic in the box, with two chances to shoot from a cross. Both failed to connect, however, with Darwin Núñez blowing on the receiving end of a pass and Suárez unable to get to the ball first down the other end.
34′: South Korea have their chance, but they don’t take advantage of it either
Several neat and accurate passes gave Hwang Ui-Jo the chance to score in the center of the box. But the forward’s shot bounced over the net to keep the game scoreless.
43′: Uruguay closes again!
Diego Godin’s header from a corner hit the left post and stayed in play, leaving the game goalless at halftime.
56′: Double hit for Son leads to a yellow card
The South Korean star made the mistake of a challenge from the Uruguayan Martín Cáceres, who received a blow and his hand with the defender’s driveway. Cáceres received a yellow card.
67′: Keep your head in the game, coach!
Uruguay coach Diego Alonso was hit in the face during a battle for possession on the touchline.
89′: Uruguay closes again
Federico Valverde’s shot from outside the box looked to have a strong chance to break the goalless tie, but the shot went wide of the left post.
Uruguay fans agonized over the missed opportunity.
