Danielle Hamilton, a nutritional therapy practitioner, suggested five reasons why your diet isn’t working in her Instagram post.
1. You are not optimizing your digestion
Digestion is the body’s #1 healing priority. If we cannot break down and absorb nutrients, we will never be healthy. And no, taking a probiotic is not enough.
2. You are focused only on the diet and not on your lifestyle
Sleep, circadian rhythm, when you eat, movement, stress reduction, sun exposure, sealing stressors, supporting detox pathways, mindset, community, spirituality, positivity, these are all essential factors for healing.
3. You are spending too much time in a state of stress
Being in a sympathetic state will block digestion, hormone balance, weight loss, healing and more. We need to enter a parasympathetic state more often.
4. You are eating sensitive or inflammatory foods
When you eat foods you’re sensitive to, it means your body is reacting with inflammation. Inflammation in the gut doesn’t stay in the gut. Not only does it block nutrient absorption, but inflammation travels throughout the body through the bloodstream.
5. You’re trying to do it on your own and you’re not addressing the root causes
When you get all your health advice from different sources, you’re not taking a consistent approach to the root cause. Try to get advice from a well-qualified expert.
