Queensland emergency services are responding to a major incident involving two helicopters at Main Beach on the Gold Coast.
Initial investigations indicate two helicopters came into contact with each other, Queensland Police said.
One managed to land successfully – a Sea World logo could be seen on the helicopter.
Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) said the incident happened at 1.59pm.
Thirteen patients are being assessed at the scene, QAS said.
Wreckage can be seen at the scene, a small sand island in the Gold Coast Broadwater, with emergency service helicopters and police boats in attendance.
Sea World Drive at Main Beach has been closed and motorists and pedestrians are advised to avoid the area.
